Egypt’s FM heads to Brussels to discuss enhancement of bilateral ties

CAIRO - 19 January 2025: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty headed to Brussels on January 19 with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations between Egypt and Belgium, according to a statement released by the ministry.

Abdelatty is scheduled to meet with senior officials in Belgium, heads of major Belgian companies, and the Egyptian community, the statement added.

The visit also aims to enhance cooperation with the European Union to follow up on the implementation of the various axes of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two sides. 

Minister Abdelatty is scheduled to receive senior officials from various European Union institutions, including the president of the European Council and the high representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and security policy.

In his second stop, Minister Abdelatty will head to the French city of Strasbourg, which hosts the headquarters of the European Parliament, to meet with the president of the European Parliament and the heads of the various political groups within the parliament, as well as the heads of the main committees concerned with following up on the relations between Egypt and the European Union.
