CAIRO – January 23, 2025: During his attendance of the third day of the World Economic Forum "Davos 2025", on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, in the presence of Ambassador Mohamed Negm, Egypt's Ambassador to Switzerland.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his aspiration to receive the Prime Minister of Croatia during his visit to Egypt scheduled for February 18, stressing the depth of relations between the two sides. 

 

Madbouly explained that Egypt looks forward to supporting relations between the two countries and increasing trade exchange in line with the strong political relations between the two sides.

 

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly also referred to Egypt's recent establishment of a RoRo line with Italy and Egypt's aspiration to establish a similar line with Croatia, noting Egypt's ability and readiness to provide skilled labor to work in the Croatian market, in addition to supporting cooperation in the petroleum sector.

 

The Prime Minister stressed Egypt's aspiration for Croatia's support to strengthen relations between Egypt and the European Union in light of the close and strategic relations between the two countries. 

 

He reviewed Egypt's efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, in partnership with the States of Qatar and America, and to work on implementing the agreement in all its stages and providing humanitarian support to the sector and working on its reconstruction.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Andrej Plenkovic asked to convey his greetings to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

 

Mr. Andrej Plenkovic expressed his aspiration to visit Egypt next February, with good preparations for the visit to follow up on all proposals for cooperation between the two countries, accompanied by a number of businessmen to discuss aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries, stressing that the two countries' affiliation to the Mediterranean region creates many common issues and interests that can be worked on to achieve, especially security and stability in the region.

 

The Croatian Prime Minister also explained that the security and stability of the Middle East region is important for the security and stability of Europe, especially in light of the issue of illegal immigration. 

 

He stressed Croatia's readiness to enhance cooperation with Egypt in the field of recruiting skilled workers, with the need to establish an official framework to organize this file, especially with his country's need for skilled workers.
