CAIRO – 26 March 2025: Lt. General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, President of the Transitional Sovereign Council of Sudan, arrived on Wednesday at the Presidential Palace in Khartoum and said in a speech: ‘It’s over, now Khartoum has become free’.

Al-Burhan visited the Presidential Palace and other sites in Khartoum after the expulsion of the Rapid Support Forces militia.

A presidential plane carrying the Chairman of Sudan's Sovereignty Council landed at Khartoum International Airport today, marking the first flight to the airport since April 15, 2023.

Last week, the Sudanese army declared the liberation of the Presidential Palace in Khartoum to be followed by the retake of the sovereign ministries and the Central Bank.
