CAIRO – 9 April 2028: Egypt condemned on Wednesday Israel’s closure of six UNRWA schools in al-Quds (the occupied East Jerusalem), stressing that this step constitutes a flagrant and unacceptable violation of international law.

In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Egypt voiced support for UNRWA, its efforts, and services in all its areas of operation, including al-Quds.

The statement emphasized the pivotal role UNRWA plays in providing essential and basic services to Palestinian refugees, “a role that is indispensable and irreplaceable.”

Egypt stressed its complete rejection of the systematic campaign targeting the UN agency and its mandate, emphasizing the importance of preserving the inalienable rights of Palestinian refugees and the Palestinian people, including the right of return
