Egypt offers condolences to DRC for victims of devastating floods

CAIRO – 11 May 2025: Egypt has expressed its deep condolences and solidarity with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in the wake of devastating floods that struck the eastern part of the country, resulting in hundreds of casualties and significant destruction.

In an official statement, Egypt conveyed its sincere sympathy to the government and people of the DRC, as well as to the families of the victims affected by this tragic humanitarian disaster. Egypt also wished a swift and full recovery for the injured.

According to local officials cited by AFP, the floods claimed the lives of more than 100 people, including children, many of whom were killed while sleeping.
