CAIRO - 21 May 2025: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects hot weather during the day on Wednesday in Greater Cairo, the Delta, South Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt, very hot in the south of the country, and warm on the northern coasts.
Temperatures will be moderate at night in most parts of the country.
Active winds are expected Wednesday in most parts of the country, potentially causing sand and dust storms in open areas.
Maritime navigation will be disrupted in the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea. Wind speeds will range from 50 to 70 km/h, and waves will range from 2.5 to 3.5 meters high.
The following are the temperatures in the cities and capitals of the country's governorates:
- Cairo to record lows of 19°C, and highs of 31°C
- Saint Catherine to record lows of 14°C, and highs of 29°C
- Alexandria to record lows of 17°C, and highs of 25°C
- Aswan to record lows of 26°C, and highs of 40°C
