69 children, 620 others died of malnutrition, shortages of medicine in Gaza

CAIRO – 18 July 2025:  The number of children who have died from malnutrition in the Gaza Strip has risen to 69, while the number of deaths resulting from food and medicine shortages has reached 620, according to the government office in Gaza.

The office said in a statement that Friday, marks the 139th day since the occupation completely closed all crossings into the Gaza Strip, preventing the entry of 76,450 trucks of humanitarian aid and fuel.

It pointed out that 42 food banks were targeted as part of the starvation policy, as well as 57 aid and food distribution centers. It was also stated that aid convoys and humanitarian missions were targeted 121 times.

Another four Palestinian civilians were killed and several others wounded on Friday following an Israeli airstrike targeting a residential home in the Jabalia al-Nazla area in the northern Gaza Strip.

According to WAFA news agency, the bodies of the four victims, along with multiple injured individuals, were transferred to Al-Shifa Medical Complex in western Gaza City after the strike hit the populated home.

Medical sources further revealed that a total of 14 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks across various areas of the Gaza Strip since early Friday morning, amid ongoing military escalation in the region.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 58,667 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 139,974 others injured.

Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.

Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
