Egyptian expats’ voting goes smoothly on 2nd day of Senate election: NEA

CAIRO – 2 August 2025: Voting by Egyptians abroad in the 2025 Senate elections is proceeding smoothly and without any obstacles for the second day, said Judge Ahmed Bandari, Executive Director of the National Elections Authority (NEA) on Saturday.

Bandari confirmed, in a phone call with Extra News Channel, that the Authority has held several press conferences since the start of voting to inform the public of all developments. 

He explained that voting is taking place in 136 polling stations distributed across 119 countries around the world.

Judge Ahmed Bandari praised the strong turnout of Egyptians abroad in the elections, describing it as a reflection of growing political awareness and a deep commitment to national duty. “It’s a commendable scene,” he said. “I extend my thanks to all the voters who went to the polling stations.”

He added that the Authority had taken all necessary measures to ensure a smooth and efficient electoral process. Technical systems were implemented to monitor voting in real time and to promptly address any complaints or technical issues raised by voters or diplomatic mission staff. He noted that the Authority offers direct communication through its official website and a dedicated mobile application.

Bandari emphasized that the participation of Egyptians abroad—particularly in Arab countries—sends a powerful message to the world about the unity of the Egyptian people and the strength of the state in fulfilling its constitutional and electoral responsibilities.
