Long queue of humanitarian aid convoy - file
CAIRO - 3 September 2025: The 29th humanitarian aid convoy departed from the Rafah land port on the Egyptian side for Karam Abu Salem Crossing, southeast of the Gaza Strip.
The convoy, part of the "Zad al-Izza: From Egypt to Gaza" initiative, was delivered to the Gaza Strip by trucks.
An official source at the Rafah land port stated that the convoy contains tons of relief and humanitarian aid, including food supplies, drinking water, medical supplies, and therapeutic medicines, in addition to shelter materials and other relief and humanitarian supplies.
The "Zad al-Izza: From Egypt to Gaza" convoy was launched by the Egyptian Red Crescent on July 27 and includes thousands of tons of aid, including food supply chains, flour, baby formula, medical supplies, therapeutic medicines, and tons of fuel.
The Israeli occupation forces closed the crossings linking the Gaza Strip since March 2, following the end of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the failure to reach an agreement to consolidate the ceasefire. They violated the truce with heavy aerial bombardment on March 18, and resumed ground incursions into various areas of the Gaza Strip from which they had previously withdrawn.
The Israeli occupation authorities also prevented the entry of trucks carrying humanitarian aid, fuel, and shelter supplies for those displaced by the war on Gaza. They also refused to allow heavy equipment necessary for rubble removal and reconstruction into the Gaza Strip.
Last May, the Israeli occupation authorities allowed limited quantities of aid into the Gaza Strip, which did not meet the minimum needs of the population. This aid was implemented in cooperation with an American security company, despite the rejection of the United Nations, other relief organizations, and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), citing its violation of established international mechanisms.
