Egypt launches comprehensive youth visits program to Sinai under presidential directives

CAIRO – 26 October 2025: Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy announced the launch of a comprehensive program to bring university students and youth center members on visits to Sinai.

The initiative comes in implementation of directives issued by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during the national celebration “Nation of Peace,” held on Saturday.

The visits aim to introduce young Egyptians to the peninsula’s extensive development and major national projects, while fostering national awareness of Sinai’s historical and strategic significance.

Sobhy highlighted that the program will include sporting, cultural, and artistic activities across northern and southern Sinai, with broad participation from youth across the country.

The initiative is intended to showcase the security, stability, and unprecedented development achievements of the region under President El-Sisi’s leadership.

The “Nation of Peace” celebration took place at the Arts and Culture City in the New Administrative Capital, attended by President El-Sisi, senior officials, and a host of Egyptian and Arab artists.

The event marked the 52nd anniversary of the October victory against Israel.

 

During the celebration, President El-Sisi instructed relevant state authorities, including the ministries of education and sports, to organize visits for school and university students to observe the major national projects implemented in Sinai over the past decade.

President El-Sisi also highlighted infrastructure achievements, noting the presence of six tunnels under the Suez Canal, connecting Sinai with the Nile Delta.

The current renaissance in Sinai follows Sisi’s launch of a comprehensive national project for the protection and development of the peninsula in 2014.

Development efforts span multiple sectors, including transportation, petroleum and natural gas, electricity, automated government services, housing, agriculture and irrigation, tourism and aviation, industry, investment, education, youth and sports, culture, social protection, and healthcare.
