Sisi, Queen of Denmark discuss investment, regional situation

CAIRO - 2 November 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Queen Mary of Denmark Sunday, where they discussed enhancing bilateral ties.

The meeting included Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Danish Ambassador Lars Bømüller.

Sisi thanked the Queen for her participation in the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum, and she expressed her pride in visiting Egypt and participating in this prominent cultural event. She praised the grandeur of Egyptian civilization and the museum's unique contribution to enriching human heritage.

In December 2014, Sisi visited Denmark and bilateral relations were upgraded a strategic partnership. The President emphasized the expansion of the scope of joint cooperation, particularly in the trade and investment sectors.

The Queen expressed her appreciation for Egypt's leading role in reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, and commended Egypt's initiative to convene a conference for the reconstruction of the Strip this November. As Denmark currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, she affirmed her pride in the advanced level of relations between Egypt and the EU, noting the vital role played by Danish companies in Egypt and expressing her aspiration to enhance Danish investments in the Egyptian market.

The meeting also addressed developments in Sudan, where they agreed on the need to intensify efforts to end the war, curb the crimes committed, and provide humanitarian aid as a prelude to reaching a comprehensive political settlement that guarantees the stability of Sudan.
