Egypt Elected to UNESCO Executive Board for 2025-2029

CAIRO – 7 November 2025: Egypt has won a seat on the UNESCO Executive Board during elections held, Friday at the organization's General Conference in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Egypt's re-election to the Executive Board for another term, renewing its current membership, underscores the international community's deep appreciation for Egypt's historical and cultural contributions in the fields of culture, science, and education, and its active role within UNESCO in protecting human heritage and civilization.

Egypt actively contributes to advancing the issues of the Arab and African regions and developing countries of the Global South, in addition to supporting UNESCO's efforts in developing education, encouraging scientific innovation, protecting cultural heritage, and empowering youth.

This win, one of a series of recent successes for Egypt in elections within international organizations, reflects the international community's confidence in the role and influence of Egyptian foreign policy and its diplomatic capabilities in multilateral international forums to promote cooperation, build bridges, and forge understandings to achieve peace, stability, and prosperity.
