CAIRO - 18 November 2025: The Public Prosecution handed over on Tuesday, 265 kilograms of seized gold bullion to the Central Bank of Egypt at its headquarters in New Cairo, with the participation of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
Public Prosecutor Mohamed Shawky, Central Bank Governor Hassan Abdullah, and Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk signed the document formally transferring the gold to the Central Bank of Egypt.
The Prime Minister inspected the seized gold, emphasizing that its transfer to the Central Bank is a significant achievement that embodies the Egyptian state's serious commitment to protecting public funds and maximizing its resources.
He added that it also reflects the pivotal role of the Public Prosecution as a cornerstone of the rule of law and the preservation of the nation's assets.
He affirmed that the transfer of 265 kilograms of seized gold bullion to the Central Bank is a practical demonstration of the state's commitment to protecting public funds, noting that President El-Sisi has directed that the seized gold be used in a way that strengthens the national economy.
Hassan Abdullah, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, affirmed that the redeployment of the gold seizures to the Central Bank represents a major institutional achievement that embodies President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s directives regarding the proper handling of seizures, which supports the pillars of the national economy and reflects the level of integration between state institutions in managing this vital file with high efficiency.
