Egypt, Algeria discuss deepening cooperation across key sectors in Cairo talks

CAIRO – 26 November 2025: Egypt and Algeria agreed on the importance of stepping up bilateral cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, industry, education, energy, communications and information technology.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb held talks in Cairo, where they also discussed prospects for greater collaboration in development, infrastructure projects, and the construction of new cities and urban communities.

The talks also explored opportunities to increase joint investments and strengthen economic links, including encouraging Egyptian companies to expand operations in Algeria.

 

Moreover, the meeting underscored a shared commitment to expanding ties and intensifying political consultation on issues of mutual concern, both bilaterally and within regional and international organizations.

Sisi welcomed the convening of the ninth session of the Egyptian-Algerian Joint Higher Committee in Cairo and stressed the need to build on its outcomes to boost economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and delegations from both countries.
