CAIRO – 5 December 2025: On the occasion of World Volunteer Day, Egypt's First Lady, Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi, expressed her profound appreciation and gratitude for all those who have embraced philanthropy and selfless service as a way of life, and for every volunteer who has chosen to be a source of light in the lives of others.
The First Lady shared her message via her official Facebook page:
"On World Volunteer Day, I extend my deepest appreciation and gratitude to all those who have made giving a way of life, and to every volunteer—male and female—who chose to be a light in the lives of others. Volunteers are the real strength that creates hope and builds a more humane and compassionate nation. Thank you to every hand that helped, every heart that embraced, and every step that made a difference."
The message underscores the pivotal role of volunteers in fostering social solidarity and humanitarian development across Egypt.
The number of volunteers worldwide is estimated to be around one billion. Seventy percent contribute informally by directly supporting their communities, while the remaining 30 percent volunteer through formal organizations and institutions, according to the UN data.
International Volunteer Day 2025, which is held this year under the inspiring theme “Every Contribution Makes a Difference,” carried special significance, marking the official global launch of the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (2026).
