CAIRO – 10 December 2025: The National Elections Authority (NEA) announced on Wednesday the conclusion of the first day of voting in the 30 constituencies where court rulings had annulled the results of the initial phase of the House of Representatives elections.
Ahmed el Bendari, Director of the NEA's executive body, instructed all judges overseeing the rerun vote in 30 constituencies across ten governorates to allow any voters present within the premises of polling stations to cast their ballots in the House of Representatives elections.
He made the remarks during a press conference on Wednesday evening at the close of the first day of voting in the constituencies whose initial parliamentary election results had been overturned by rulings from the Supreme Administrative Court.
Bendari thanked voters who participated positively in the process, noting that the authority had received 12 complaints from political parties. Valid complaints were addressed accordingly, and the NEA worked to facilitate the tasks of candidates’ agents and representatives. He added that 80 complaints were lodged regarding crowding at polling stations.
He reported that additional supervisors were deployed to those stations, and that some complaints related to the late opening of a few polling stations and issues raised by domestic observers were all successfully resolved. Other complaints were found to be unfounded.
Heads of the general committees reported that legal measures and official records had been filed over violations of the National Elections Authority’s regulations, including attempts to influence voters.
These cases were referred to the Public Prosecution for investigation. They stressed that such violations did not affect the overall conduct of the electoral process.
