Egypt denies reports it was notified in advance of Israeli strikes on Iran

CAIRO – 1 March 2026: An official source denied reports circulated by Israeli media claiming that Israel had informed Egypt 48 hours in advance of its plan to strike Iran, Al Qaher News reported.

The source stressed that these claims are entirely false.

The official further reaffirmed Egypt’s longstanding position that crises should be resolved through diplomatic means, a stance it has maintained since the outset of the current tensions.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Saturday that Israel informed Egypt of a plan to strike Iran about 48 hours in advance, but Egypt showed no intention of participating in the attack.
