El-Sisi receives Madagascar's president Wednesday for talks on political, economic ties

CAIRO – 29 July 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is set to receive Madagascar's President Michael Randrianirina on Wednesday for his first-ever official visit to Egypt.

The two leaders are set to hold talks on strengthening bilateral relations across political, trade, and investment fields, according to a statement by the Egyptian Presidency.

Their discussions will also cover developments of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The two leaders met in May on the sidelines of the Africa–France Summit in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, where they discussed opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure development, agriculture, health, and human development.

El-Sisi has affirmed Egypt’s readiness to provide all forms of support to Madagascar in its efforts to achieve sustainable development.
