CAIRO – 29 July 2026: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, received a phone call on Wednesday from Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, to discuss regional developments and ways to promote regional security and stability.
The two ministers exchanged views on the rapidly evolving situation across the region, stressing the urgent need for de-escalation, an immediate halt to military operations, and a commitment to political and diplomatic solutions.
They emphasized the importance of continued close coordination and consultation between their countries to support diplomatic efforts and strengthen regional security.
Turning to the Palestinian issue, Minister Abdelatty expressed grave concern over the dangerous escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories. He condemned ongoing Israeli violations in the West Bank, Gaza, and occupied East Jerusalem, warning that such actions undermine prospects for peace and a two-state solution.
Finally, Abdelatty underscored the necessity of fully implementing the US President's peace plan for Gaza to consolidate a lasting ceasefire, ensure unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid, and establish conditions for transitioning to subsequent phases.
