Damietta Port handles 49K tons

CAIRO - 30 July 2026: The Media Center of the Damietta Port Authority (DPA) issued its daily statistical report on maritime movement, Thursday, July 30, 2026, noted that the port received 8 vessels over the past 24 hours, while 1 vessel departed, bringing the total number of vessels currently docked at the port to 21.

The report indicated that total outbound general cargo reached 23,704 tons, which included:

19,838 tons of general diverse cargo

2,000 tons of beet pulp

1,866 tons of gypsum

Conversely, inbound general cargo traffic totaled 25,545 tons, comprising:

9,380 tons of scrap metal

5,500 tons of corn

3,600 tons of iron

3,500 tons of rice

2,600 tons of plywood

965 tons of beech wood

Container traffic recorded significant activity, with outbound containers reaching 194 TEUs (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units), while inbound containers hit 1,029 TEUs. Meanwhile, transit containers reached 1,614 TEUs.

The statement disclosed the port's grain reserves, noting that the wheat stock in the public sector grain silo stood at 98,120 tons, while private sector stores held 45,993 tons of wheat.

On the overland transport front, the port witnessed intensive entry and exit activity, recording 5,447 truck movements throughout the day.

The Damietta Port Authority (DPA) confirmed the continuation of high-efficiency operational activities across the port. Various terminals and berths are witnessing full regularity in vessel arrivals and departures, alongside ongoing loading, unloading, and cargo handling operations in accordance with designated operational targets.

The Authority explained that the port continues to provide its integrated system of maritime and logistical services 24/7 without interruption. This strategy aims to meet the requirements of shipping lines and port clients, ensuring smooth traffic flow and streamlined administrative procedures.

The statement added that cargo handling activities are experiencing notable stability and fluidity across all sectors, safeguarding operational efficiency, workflow speed, and targeted productivity rates.
