Qatar strongly condemns targeting of gas vessels in Damietta port

CAIRO – 30 July 2026: Qatar has strongly condemned the targeting of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers at Egypt's Damietta Port, describing the attack as a direct threat to global energy supplies, a blatant violation of international law, and an irresponsible act that undermines regional security and jeopardizes the interests of nations.

In a statement carried by the Qatar News Agency (QNA) on Thursday, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Qatar's complete rejection of attacks on vital infrastructure. The ministry stressed the need to spare the region the consequences of such unjustified attacks and urged concerted efforts toward de-escalation to restore regional and international stability.

Furthermore, the ministry reiterated Qatar's full solidarity with Egypt and expressed complete support for all measures taken by the country to preserve its sovereignty and national security.
