CAIRO – 31 July 2026: Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population announced that its Elderly Healthcare Initiative has provided medical services to 2,966,000 citizens aged 65 and older between its launch in 2022 and mid-July 2026, as part of the presidential "100 Million Healthy Lives" campaign.
The initiative aims to improve the quality of life for senior citizens through comprehensive clinical examinations and screenings for non-communicable diseases, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, kidney disease, anemia, and malnutrition.
Services offered include electrocardiograms (ECGs), abdominal and liver ultrasounds, vision tests, and oral and dental assessments to ensure continuous monitoring of overall health. The program also features early detection screenings for age-related psychological and cognitive disorders using approved evaluation tools.
Beneficiaries receive periodic health-tracking cards, while patients requiring advanced medical intervention or specialized treatment are referred to ministry hospitals.
