Egypt, Namibia talk digital transformation in health sector

CAIRO - 1 August 2026: The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population received Saturday a delegation from the Republic of Namibia to learn about its experience in digital transformation within the health sector.

 

This visit, coordinated with the African Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aims to strengthen health cooperation between the two countries.

 

 

 

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry's official spokesperson, explained that the visit included a tour of the Crisis Management Room at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The delegation also attended lectures on leveraging modern technology to support decision-making and enhance the efficiency of health services. Additionally, they visited the New Administrative Capital Hospital to observe its medical services and the digital applications that contribute to improving the quality of care.

 

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar emphasized that the delegation commended the tangible progress achieved by the Ministry in its digital transformation programs, considering the Egyptian experience a leading model for the African continent in developing the health system using modern technology.

 

The delegation was accompanied during the visit by officials from the Minister's Advisor's Office for Foreign Health Relations and officials from the Ministry's Information Technology and Digital Transformation Department.
