CAIRO - 2 August 2026: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip with High Representative for Gaza Nikolay Mladenov in a Sunday phone call.

The discussions focused on the ongoing negotiations to fulfill the commitments of the US President's peace plan for Gaza.

Abdelatty stressed the urgent need to fully implement all first-phase entitlements, including ensuring complete, safe, and sustained delivery of humanitarian aid, alongside a full Israeli withdrawal from the enclave to enable early recovery and reconstruction efforts.

The two officials also addressed upcoming transitional arrangements.

Abdelatty emphasized the importance of enabling the National Committee for Gaza Administration to operate directly from within the Gaza Strip to efficiently manage the transitional phase while preserving the unity of the Palestinian territories.

The minister urged all involved parties to honor their obligations under the plan and refrain from any actions that could undermine its execution, highlighting that full compliance is vital to restoring regional security and stability.
