CAIRO – 3 August 2026: Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, ordered the immediate activation of the ministry's emergency relief plan across all governorates’ directorates after citizens felt an earthquake in the early hours of Monday morning.
Morsi is continuously monitoring updates through the Central Crisis and Control Room at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. Connected directly to emergency rooms in regional social solidarity directorates nationwide, the central control room has received several reports, all of which were addressed immediately.
The Minister instructed all directorates to maintain the highest state of alert. She also called for complete readiness across regional offices and the Egyptian Red Crescent to respond swiftly to any further developments.
