Gaza bids farewell to 112 martyrs in largest mass funeral since war beginning

CAIRO - 4 August 2026: Gaza City witnessed one of the largest mass funerals since the outbreak of the war on the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, with the burial of 112 martyrs from the Abu Sharia and Al-Hasayna families.

 

Their bodies were recovered from a single site that had been inaccessible for months due to ongoing Israeli military operations.

 

According to Palestinian media, the number of victims at the site reached 308 martyrs and missing persons. Rescue and civil defense teams continue their search operations under the rubble to recover more bodies, amidst significant difficulties stemming from the scale of the destruction caused by the war.

 

The funeral procession is expected to draw a large crowd, reflecting the magnitude of the humanitarian tragedy endured by the residents of the Gaza Strip.
