FM discusses strengthening cooperation with Head of National Training Academy

CAIRO - 4 August 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad Dr. Badr Abdelatty, met Tuesday, with Dr. Salwa Gweili, Head of the National Training Academy.

 

The meeting addressed ways to enhance cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Academy in preparing and qualifying diplomatic and administrative personnel, and explored opportunities for bilateral cooperation in capacity building and training in African countries.

 

Minister Abdelatty praised the leading role played by the National Training Academy in preparing and qualifying human resources, considering it one of the leading national institutions in building capacities and honing the skills of future leaders.

 

This contributes to supporting the Egyptian state's efforts to develop the administrative apparatus and enhance the efficiency of human resources.

 

The Foreign Minister affirmed the Ministry's commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Academy through the implementation of specialized training programs in coordination with the Institute of Diplomatic Studies. This will contribute to raising the capabilities of diplomatic and administrative personnel to meet the demands of contemporary diplomatic work.

 

Strengthening Joint Cooperation

 

Minister Abdelatty emphasized the importance of maximizing cooperation between the National Training Academy and the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development. This cooperation aims to enhance efforts to transfer Egyptian expertise and build capacity in sister African nations, particularly in the fields of agriculture, irrigation, fisheries, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence applications.

 

The Foreign Minister also expressed his aspiration to launch joint training programs designed to develop the skills of government personnel in the Horn of Africa and the Nile Basin countries. This initiative supports sustainable development efforts and reflects Egypt's leading role in capacity building across the African continent.

 

For her part, Dr. Salwa Gawily expressed her appreciation for the existing cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She affirmed the Academy's readiness to provide its expertise and training programs to meet the Ministry's needs and contribute to developing qualified personnel capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments in the diplomatic and administrative work environment.
