CAIRO – 4 August 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a slight temperature drop of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius across northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, and Upper Egypt on Wednesday, August 5.

Expected Temperatures

Greater Cairo: High 36°C (Feels like 38°C)

Lower Egypt: High 35°C (Feels like 37°C)

Northwest Coast: High 31°C (Feels like 34°C)

Northeast Coast: High 33°C (Feels like 37°C)

Northern Upper Egypt: High 37°C (Feels like 39°C)

Southern Upper Egypt: High 43°C (Feels like 44°C)

Weather Conditions

The day will start warm and humid, turning hot and humid along the northern coasts and very hot and humid across the rest of the country during daytime hours. Warm, humid conditions will persist overnight.

Low clouds may form over scattered areas along the northwestern coast and the northern Nile Delta. High humidity brings a slight chance (around 20%) of light rain in isolated spots.

Morning fog is expected between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM across northern Egypt, extending to Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt. Fog may be dense at times on major roadways.

Intermittent active winds will bring partial relief from the heat in exposed areas. However, active winds along coastal areas (Marsa Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, and Gamasa) will generate wave heights of 1.5 to 2 meters.

Rough seas and disrupted maritime navigation are expected along parts of the Red Sea coast and the Gulf of Suez, with wind speeds reaching 40–60 km/h and waves reaching 2 to 3 meters.
