UNESCO to cooperate with Egypt on technical education, AI, digital media: Director-General

CAIRO – 6 August 2026: UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany said the organization will cooperate with Egypt in developing technical education, training teachers and enhancing their capabilities, as well as promoting digital media and artificial intelligence.

During a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Thursday in New Alamein City, El-Enancy highlighted new prospects for supporting joint projects with Egypt across various fields.

El-Enany also said there are promising opportunities for cooperation across Africa in coordination with the Egyptian government through a range of cultural and educational initiatives.

The initiatives include transferring Egypt's experience in building the Grand Egyptian Museum to African countries to help preserve the continent's human heritage, while also supporting efforts to revive traditional crafts and advance technical education to develop a skilled workforce.

El-Enancy praised Egypt's role as an active partner in advancing UNESCO's agenda and its efforts to promote education, culture and science.

For his part, the prime minister reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to maintaining close cooperation and coordination with UNESCO in the fields of education and culture as key priorities on the government's agenda.
