CAIRO – 7 August 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts warm and humid weather early Friday morning, turning very hot and humid across most of the country during the day. The northern coast will experience hot and humid conditions, while warm, humid weather will persist nationwide overnight.

Expected temperatures:

Greater Cairo: High 36°C (Feels like 38°C)

Lower Egypt: High 35°C (Feels like 37°C)

Northwest Coast: High 31°C (Feels like 34°C)

Northeast Coast: High 33°C (Feels like 37°C)

Northern Upper Egypt: High 38°C (Feels like 40°C)

Southern Upper Egypt: High 43°C (Feels like 44°C)

Key Weather Conditions:

Morning Mist: Morning fog and mist are expected between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM from northern Egypt down to Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt. The mist may be dense along select agricultural and major highways.

Wind Activity: Wind speeds ranging between 30 and 40 km/h will affect most regions, helping to slightly temper conditions in open areas.

Dust and Sandstorms: Intermittent blowing dust and sand may lower visibility in parts of the Red Sea Governorate, as well as northern and southern Upper Egypt.

Coastal Waves: Active winds along the Mediterranean coast—including Marsa Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Gamasa, Damietta, Port Said, and El Arish—will produce waves reaching 1.5 to 2 meters in height.

Maritime Warning: Marine navigation will face disruptions along parts of the Red Sea and Gulf of Suez coasts, where wind speeds will reach 40 to 50 km/h and wave heights will range between 2 and 3 meters.

Cloud Cover: Low cloud formations may develop over scattered areas from northern Egypt to Greater Cairo and the Suez Canal cities, bringing a slight chance of light, brief drizzle.
