The fourth phase of the presidential initiative, 100 Million Trees, which included the planting, supply, and afforestation of more than 200,000 trees across several governorates
CAIRO – 7 August 2026: Volunteers from the Egyptian Red Crescent in North Sinai participated in a tree-planting campaign in Sheikh Zuweid as part of the presidential "100 Million Trees" initiative, aimed at expanding green spaces and improving the urban appearance of the city and its surrounding area.
Khaled Zayed, Head of the Egyptian Red Crescent branch in North Sinai, said on Friday, August 7, 2026, that the volunteers’ participation in the initiative comes within the framework of promoting sustainable development, protecting the environment, increasing green areas, and enhancing the city’s appearance.
Zayed added that the Red Crescent’s participation was carried out in cooperation with the Sheikh Zuweid City Council, highlighting the organization’s role in supporting national and community efforts and strengthening cooperation between government institutions and civil society to serve citizens and improve the local environment.
