Gov't addresses 552 reports of homeless children, adults in July

CAIRO - 8 August 2026: Following directives from Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, to intensify field interventions and expedite responses to humanitarian reports, the Ministry's rapid intervention teams continued their efforts to protect vulnerable groups.

 

They addressed 552 reports during July, ranging from cases of homeless children and adults to reports related to social welfare institutions and various other humanitarian cases.

 

 

Addressing the Cases of Homeless Children and Adults

 

This comes as part of ongoing efforts since the establishment of the Rapid Intervention Team in 2014.

 

To date, the team has dealt with approximately 46,000 cases nationwide, based on reports from multiple sources, achieving a 100% success rate according to team data.

 

The Rapid Intervention Teams continue their work around the clock, conducting field operations and coordinating with relevant authorities to reach individuals as quickly as possible, provide protection, healthcare, social and psychological support, and work to reintegrate them into family or safe environments whenever possible.

 

The Ministry of Social Solidarity affirms that its rapid intervention teams do not simply respond to reports, but rather follow up on cases to ensure the best possible intervention.

 

This includes providing care and placement in care institutions, offering health and social support, reuniting individuals with their families, or providing protection for those at risk. This embodies the Ministry's mission to protect vulnerable groups and preserve their dignity.

 

The Ministry of Social Solidarity urges citizens to promptly report any homeless children or adults, or any person at risk who requires urgent intervention. It also encourages reporting any violations or abuses within social care facilities, emphasizing that prompt reporting could save a life and change it for the better.

Reports can be sent through the Ministry's hotline 16439, the Unified Government Complaints System at the Cabinet 16528, or the "Sons of Egypt" line for receiving complaints and reports about social care homes 19828.
