CAIRO – 8 August 2026: Nine Palestinians, including four children, were injured after coming under fire from Israeli forces in Gaza Strip since Saturday morning, Palestinian media reported, citing medical sources at hospitals in the enclave.

The sources said the incidents occurred in areas outside the Israeli military’s direct control and field positions inside the enclave. The injuries are ranging from moderate to serious.

Despite a ceasefire that took effect in October last year, Israel has continued to carry out near-daily strikes on Gaza, killing more than 1,250 Palestinians and injuring over 4,000 since then.

The ongoing escalation has pushed the Palestinian death toll in Gaza to more than 73,000, with over 174,000 others injured since the war began.
