CAIRO – 8 August 2026: Greater Cairo is expected to experience felt temperatures reaching 40C over the coming days as high humidity adds to the heat, according to a forecast issued by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
The authority said felt temperatures in Greater Cairo are forecast to reach 40C on Tuesday and Wednesday, before easing slightly to 39C on Thursday and Friday.
Actual maximum temperatures are expected to range between 36C and 38C during the period.
The forecast covers Monday through Friday, with the authority expecting hot and humid conditions during the daytime across most parts of the country and warm, humid weather at night.
The EMA also forecast morning mist along some agricultural and coastal roads, extending in places from the North Coast and the Nile Delta through central Sinai and Upper Egypt, with visibility potentially reduced at times.
Occasional wind activity is expected over South Sinai and southern parts of the country through Friday.
Rising humidity levels nationwide will increase the feeling of heat by around 2C to 4C above actual temperatures.
