Late Palestinian ambassador to Egypt Diab Al Louh
CAIRO – 10 August 2026: With profound grief, Egypt mourned the death of Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt and Palestinian Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States Diab Al-Louh, who passed away on Sunday in Cairo, after a distinguished diplomatic and national career dedicated to serving the Palestinian cause and defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Egypt extended its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to Palestine, its leadership, government, and people, and to the family and loved ones of the deceased, praying to God Almighty to grant him His abundant mercy and to grant his family and the brotherly Palestinian people patience and solace.
Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Diab Al-Louh died in Cairo on Sunday at the age of 68 after having suffered from an illness and having received treatment at a Cairo hospital.
The funeral and burial ceremony will be held on Monday in Cairo, the Palestinian Embassy announced in a statement on Sunday.
Al-Louh served as the State of Palestine’s ambassador to several countries, most recently the Arab Republic of Egypt. He was appointed Palestinian ambassador to Egypt in November 2017 and also served as the country’s permanent representative to the League of Arab States.
Al-Louh became involved in the Palestinian national movement at a young age and had a long history of political activism. During his youth, he was imprisoned by Israel for his involvement in the Palestinian national movement.
During his years in Cairo, Al-Louh played an active diplomatic and political role, particularly on issues related to the Gaza Strip. He represented the State of Palestine in ongoing coordination with the Egyptian leadership on Palestinian affairs, particularly the situation in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid.
