CAIRO - 10 August 2026: The Ministry of Health and Population announced that it has provided 10,966,291 free medical services since the launch of the fourth edition of the “100 Days of Health” campaign on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
This initiative is part of the state’s efforts to improve the quality and expand the reach of healthcare services across all governorates of the Republic.
The campaign comes in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, who emphasized the importance of strengthening national health initiatives and their role in raising the efficiency of the healthcare system and achieving the goals of universal health coverage.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry’s official spokesperson, explained that on its eighth day, the campaign provided 1,612,069 free medical services, with the participation of 13 sectors of the Ministry working in an integrated manner to achieve the campaign’s objectives.
He noted that the curative care sector provided 456,646 services, while the primary care sector provided 350,418 services.
Hospitals affiliated with the General Authority for Health Insurance provided 198,223 services, while presidential public health initiatives provided 156,023 services, and units affiliated with the General Authority for Teaching Hospitals and Institutes provided 91,702 services.
He added that the preventive medicine sector provided 80,715 services, hospitals under the General Authority for Specialized Medical Centers provided 154,344 services, and the Golden Thousand Days Initiative provided 38,364 services.
The campaign also issued 7,249 decisions for treatment at the state's expense, hospitals of the Therapeutic Organization provided 7,677 services, and the "Your Health is Happiness" mental health support initiative provided 10,390 services. In addition, 3,560 surgical procedures were performed as part of the initiative to eliminate waiting lists.
The official spokesperson confirmed that the campaign paid great attention to raising health awareness, as it provided health awareness and education services to 56,758 citizens through community communication teams in public areas, clubs and shopping centers in various governorates, with the aim of promoting health culture and encouraging citizens to benefit from free services, in addition to organizing seminars and various awareness activities.
