EMA warns of very hot weather as temperatures break 40 degrees
CAIRO - 12 August 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has warned of significant temperature increases across the country, with the peak expected Wednesday.
The Authority indicated that Greater Cairo is expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius in the shade Wednesday, while southern Egypt will exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
Important Advice for Citizens
The Meteorology Authority urged citizens to drink plenty of fluids, especially water, and to avoid direct sun exposure.

Cairo: Low 27°C, High 40°C.
New Administrative Capital: Low 26°C, High 39°C.
6th of October City: Low 26°C, High 40°C.
Kafr El Sheikh: Low 26°C, High 36°C.
Coastal Cities Northern Egypt:
Alexandria: Low 25°C, High 33°C.
El Alamein: Low 24°C, High 32°C.
