Profile: Major General Mohamed Abdel Fattah, New Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization

CAIRO – 12 August 2026:  Major General Mohamed Abdel Fattah Abu Bakr has assumed the chairmanship of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), succeeding Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif.

Born on March 1, 1969, Major General Abu Bakr holds a Bachelor of Engineering, a Bachelor of Military Science, and a Master of Business Administration in Project Management from Cairo University. He completed the Staff College course at the Command and Staff College and advanced through various leadership positions in the Egyptian Armed Forces, most recently serving as Director of the Armored Corps.

Throughout his distinguished military career, Major General Abu Bakr has earned numerous honors, including the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, the January 25th Medal, and the June 30th Medal.

The former Armored Corps director assumes leadership of the AOI as the organization continues to advance its manufacturing capabilities, adopt modern technologies, and drive national efforts to localize industry and boost domestic production components.
