CAIRO – 12 August 2026:  Turkish media outlets have revealed details of Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s upcoming visit to Egypt on August 13 and 14, during which he will meet with high-ranking Egyptian officials.

Fidan and his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, will co-chair the second meeting of the joint Turkish-Egyptian Planning Group in El Alamein. Discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral relations, expanding cooperation in energy, trade, investment, and defense, and pursuing the target of increasing bilateral trade to $15 billion.

The talks will also cover critical regional issues, including stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and ongoing developments in Gaza, Syria, Libya, and Sudan. Official sources note that the visit is expected to propel relations between the two nations toward a comprehensive strategic partnership, expanding beyond political coordination into broader areas of economic and security cooperation.
