CAIRO – 12 August 2026: The Ministry of Social Solidarity has begun disbursing immediate financial compensation to the families of victims killed in a vehicle collision in the Dawawis area of the Qassasin district, Ismailia Governorate.
The accident involved two vehicles transporting workers, leaving several dead and others injured. The injured were transferred to nearby hospitals to receive necessary medical treatment.
Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, previously ordered a doubling of the ministry's standard compensation payouts for the families of the deceased and injured, in accordance with applicable regulations.
Dr. Morsi directed the Head of the Central Administration for Social Protection to expedite the disbursement process and ensure all requests from the victims' families are promptly fulfilled. She also instructed various ministry departments to extend all possible assistance to those affected. As part of these relief efforts, the Fund for Supporting Projects of Associations and NGOs provided hot meals to the families through its Al-Mahrousa Restaurant initiative.
