CAIRO – 14 August 2026: Egypt strongly condemned the attack on two vessels operated by UAE energy company ADNOC while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday evening, stressing that the incident poses a serious threat to maritime security, the safety of navigation and freedom of movement through one of the world’s key international waterways.

In a statement issued on Friday, August 14, 2026, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Egypt reaffirmed its full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates.

Egypt called for an immediate halt to all acts that threaten the safety and security of international navigation or endanger civilian vessels and facilities, stressing the need to uphold international law in a manner that contributes to de-escalation and promotes regional security and stability.
