CAIRO – 16 August 2026: The Egyptian Red Crescent launched its 257th “Zad Al-Ezzah: From Egypt to Gaza” aid convoy early Sunday, carrying thousands of tons of humanitarian supplies for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The convoy, comprising a number of trucks, is part of the Egyptian Red Crescent’s role as Egypt’s national mechanism for coordinating humanitarian assistance to Gaza.

The latest convoy is carrying more than 3,679 tons of aid, including over 1,322 tons of food baskets and flour, around 428 tons of relief supplies, medical equipment and medicines, and more than 1,929 tons of fuel and petroleum products needed to operate hospitals and other vital facilities in the Gaza Strip.

The Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a presence along the border since the beginning of the crisis, keeping its logistics centers on standby and continuing efforts to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian and relief assistance to Gaza.

The organization said the total volume of aid delivered has exceeded 1 million tons, supported by the efforts of more than 75,000 volunteers.
