CAIRO – 17 August 2026: The Egyptian Red Crescent launched the 258th ‘Zad El-Ezza’ convoy on Monday, dispatching a fleet of trucks toward the Gaza Strip. The initiative reflects the organization’s role as the national mechanism coordinating aid to the Strip.
The convoy carried tons of comprehensive humanitarian relief, including more than 70,000 food baskets, flour, relief supplies, medical equipment, medicines, and petroleum products required to operate hospitals and vital facilities in the Strip.
The Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a constant presence at the border since the onset of the crisis, keeping the Rafah crossing open on the Egyptian side. Operating across its logistical centers, the organization has delivered over one million tons of humanitarian and relief aid through the ongoing dedication of more than 75,000 volunteers.
