Applying for Hajj through Ministry of Social Solidarity: Applicants must be NGO members

CAIRO – 17 August 2026: The Ministry of Social Solidarity has announced the eligibility criteria for individuals wishing to perform Hajj during the 1448 AH (2027 CE) season.

Under the Ministry's guidelines, participating non-governmental organizations and institutions governed by Law No. 149 of 2019 must be registered prior to July 1, 2026, and must not face active legal action regarding dissolution, board removal, or referral to the Public Prosecution.

To be nominated by an eligible organization, applicants must meet specific requirements. NGO nominees must be active general assembly members, either full or associate, with up-to-date annual dues paid at the time of application.

For institutions, nominees must be either a founder or a member of the board of trustees. Additionally, nominees must not have previously performed Hajj. Following the announcement of the lottery results, successful applicants will undergo final verification upon submitting their travel certificates.
