CAIRO — 17 August 2026: The Suez Canal Economic Zone announced on August 17 that the tourist berth at West Port Said Port welcomed the cruise ship ASTORIA GRANDE, flying the flag of Palau and arriving from Kusadasi Port in Turkey.
The vessel carried 414 passengers and 409 crew members as part of its regular Mediterranean cruise itinerary.
During its stay, passengers are scheduled to participate in a tour program featuring visits to Port Said, as well as excursions to Cairo and Giza to explore a number of Egypt’s renowned tourist and archaeological sites.
The ship is scheduled to depart the port this evening and continue its voyage to Antalya Port in Turkey.
The ship’s arrival reflects the Suez Canal Economic Zone’s ongoing efforts to revitalize maritime tourism at its ports on the Mediterranean and Red Seas, strengthen their readiness to receive cruise ships, and provide the necessary services and facilities for passengers and vessels.

ASTORIA GRANDE is a cruise ship that regularly operates in the Mediterranean Sea. Owned by Goodwin Shipping Ltd., the vessel is 193 meters long, 32 meters wide, and has a draft of 6 meters.
West Port Said Port enjoys a strategic location at the northern entrance to the Suez Canal, enhancing its capacity to receive cruise ships and support inbound tourism to Egypt.
