Temperatures to drop next days; Cairo records highs 34°C

CAIRO - 18 August 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a slight decrease in temperatures on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, with increased humidity levels across northern Egypt, extending to Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.

 

Expected Temperatures:

 

Greater Cairo: High 34°C, Feels Like 36°C

 

Northwest Coast: High 30°C, Feels Like 33°C

 

Northern Upper Egypt: High 36°C, Feels Like 38°C

 

Lower Egypt: High 33°C, Feels Like 35°C

 

Northeast Coast: High 32°C, Feels Like 36°C

 

Southern Upper Egypt: High 39°C, Feels Like 40°C

 

 

Weather Forecast:

 

Warm and humid conditions are expected in the early morning, becoming hot and humid during the day across northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo.

 

Very hot conditions are expected in southern Egypt, with warm and humid conditions prevailing at night across most of the country.

 

 

Weather Phenomena:

 

A slight chance of low clouds forming over scattered areas of Greater Cairo, southern Lower Egypt, and the Suez Canal cities, potentially resulting in light, insignificant drizzle in some areas.

 

Mist (from 4 to 8 AM): on some roads leading to and from northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt.

 

A very slight chance of light rain (approximately 20%): in parts of the northern coastal governorates and northern Lower Egypt at intervals.
