CAIRO – 20 August 2026: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas awarded the Star of Jerusalem to the Ambassador of Egypt to the State of Palestine, Ihab Suleiman, during a meeting on Thursday marking the end of the ambassador's tenure in Palestine.
The Palestinian President bestowed the Star of Jerusalem upon Ambassador Suleiman in recognition of his distinguished role in strengthening fraternal relations and close cooperation between the State of Palestine and the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as in appreciation of his efforts in supporting the Palestinian people and their just cause for freedom and independence.
President Abbas praised the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties binding the two countries and their brotherly peoples, as well as the significant efforts exerted by Ambassador Suleiman during his term to advance cooperation and joint action, wishing him success in his future endeavors.
For his part, the Egyptian Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Palestinian President for the honor, reaffirming Egypt's unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their just cause.
