EMA warns of hot weather next week as temperature rises between 2°C to 4°C

CAIRO - 22 August 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has warned of a rise in temperatures starting Sunday, across most of the country and continuing until the end of the week, with increases ranging from 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, bringing back very hot weather.

 

The maximum temperature in Greater Cairo is expected to reach 37 degrees Celsius in the shade, with the feels-like temperature rising to 39 degrees Celsius.

 

Meanwhile, the feels-like temperature in Upper Egypt is expected to reach nearly 44 degrees Celsius.

 

The Meteorological Authority also warned that high humidity levels will increase the perceived temperature in the shade by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.

 

The heat will feel much hotter than expected.

Cairo: Low 25°C, High 35°C.

 

New Administrative Capital: Low 24°C, High 36°C.

 

6th of October City: Low 24°C, High 35°C.

 

Kafr El Sheikh: Low 24°C, High 34°C.

 

 

 

Coastal Cities Northern Egypt:

 

Alexandria: Low 23°C, High 32°C.

 

El Alamein: Low 23°C, High 31°C.
