CAIRO - 3 February 2026: Egypt is working to advance economic integration with Türkiye in a bid to expand joint manufacturing and boost exports to international markets, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said, highlighting opportunities to capitalize on the complementary strengths of both economies.
Kouchouk made the remarks during a virtual open discussion with about 250 senior Turkish investors taking part in a meeting of the Egyptian–Turkish chambers of commerce held in New Alamein City.
He said the private sectors in Egypt and Turkey have significant capacity to scale up mutual investments and widen the scope of bilateral economic cooperation.
The finance minister pointed to promising prospects in food industries, engineering, ready-made garments and home appliances as key areas for deeper collaboration.
He noted that Egypt’s economic recovery remains on a solid footing, with private sector investments rising by 73 percent last year and maintaining strong momentum.
According to Kouchouk, the growing flow of investments into the Suez Canal Economic Zone stands as a successful example of effective regional and international partnerships.
Kouchouk added that first-quarter indicators of the current fiscal year confirm the continuation of improved economic performance, stressing the government’s commitment to fiscal discipline to support stability and gradually reduce public debt levels.
Meanwhile, Ahmed El Wakil, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, said efforts are underway to promote industrial zones in New Alamein, Gargoub and Borg El Arab, with the aim of attracting additional Turkish investments and strengthening long-term economic partnerships between the two countries.
