EGX30 slips 0.35% as Egyptian investors record LE275.7M in net sales

CAIRO - 30 July 2026: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed mixed on Thursday, with the benchmark EGX30 declining 0.35 percent to 53,442 points, pressured by selling activity from Egyptian investors.
 
The EGX Shariah Index fell 0.73 percent to 6,012 points, while the EGX70 index for small- and mid-cap stocks dropped 1.03 percent to 18,233 points. Meanwhile, the EGX35-LV advanced 0.85 percent to 6,315 points, and the broader EGX100 gained 0.91 percent to close at 24,035 points.
 
The market capitalization of listed companies reached LE3.936 trillion at the close of trading.
 
Egyptian investors were net sellers with LE275.7 million in net sales, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers, recording net purchases of LE45.5 million and LE230.2 million, respectively.
 
Total trading value reached LE11.9 billion, with 2.6 billion shares traded through 260,600 transactions.
 
Among the session's top gainers, Glaxo Smith Kline topped the gainers after its shares jumped 20 percent, followed closely by Alexandria Flour Mills, which rose 19.99 percent. 
 
Catalyst Partners Middle East advanced 15.01 percent, while General Company for Land Reclamation, Development and Reconstruction climbed 13.61 percent. Arabian Metal Industries and Industrial Investments also posted solid gains, rising 8.7 percent.
 
On the downside, El Kahera Housing led the losers, falling 7.65 percent, followed by Arab Real Estate Investment (ALICO), which declined 7.63 percent. El Shams Housing and Urbanization lost 6.22 percent, while Aspire Capital Holding for Financial Investments and Zahraa Maadi Investment and Development retreated 6.01 percentand 5.66 percent, respectively.
